IMPORTANT NOTICE: E-MAIL TAX REFUND SCAM
Several of our clients have recently received an e-mail which appears to have been sent by the "IRS" claiming they are due a refund.
The e-mail directs the taxpayer to a web page that looks identical to the actual IRS web site. The taxpayer is then asked for his or her social security number and credit card information to allegedly provide a refund.
This is obviously a scam. The IRS would not have our client's e-mail address, nor would they ever ask for a credit card.
